Hoffco has been engraving for over 20 years. We utilize a rotary system.
Rotary engraving is the process of using a spinning cutter in a motor-powered spindle to cut or “rout” into material, either completely through the substrate to create cut out shapes or holes, or at a predetermined depth to create engraved grooves that form characters and graphics. We can only engrave on flat surfaces. I.E. we cannot engrave on bibles, plates, knives or guns just to name a few items that we cannot do in house.
We have 3 different engraving tables.
One of our tables is for metal engraving only. We can engrave on aluminum, brass or stainless steel on this table. When engraving on metal, you have the option to “backfill” which means what is engraved out can be backfilled with a paint stick making the text/graphics colored while the rest of the plate stay the same color as the substrate.
The other 2 tables are for plastic, pvc, and a thin brass or aluminum that is used for plaques or trophies. The difference between these 2 tables is the size. One is 2’x4’ and the other is 1’x1’.
We do not have a laser engraver so therefore, we do not laser or emboss.
